Wow, pretty convincing. It's amazing how people get scammed by this stuff, and I'm not imune. Here is a picture of the Mini Cooper I bought. After much inspection, it turns out that it also was counterfeit:

you got that Right ridiculous the amount of Chinese crap components we deal with in the Aircraft World
its all down to bean counters,funny enough as you know the Aircraft industry is very unstable,But if your a Warranty returns Parts person your job is safe and lots of overtime!!!!

Thanks Michael, I appreciate it. Imagine how stupid I felt to bring it into a Mini dealer for service and have them not only tell me it was a fake, but to suffer the further indignity of having them put a counterfeit sticker on it...

Being in the electronics industry, we've been running into counterfeit semiconductors for many years, and they were ALWAYS far inferior to the OEM. Some of the molded cases, print and fonts were so close it was nearly impossible to tell them from real.
Want to hear scary? Years ago (maybe 80's?) there was a story on one of the major news networks about counterfeit jet engine parts, many of which being discovered in domestic airliners...
