    4 post lift question??

    How tall do you guys set your lifts to work under them? I am 6 ft and wonder if I need the taller one. they say at ramp height of 72" they are only 67 under the ramp. Should I get the EX tall one so I can go up one more click and have 73" under ramps? i was also thinking I mite want to keep the car up in the winter and use the space under it for other projects and I dont want to be bumping my head, it hurts.

    Slammed Big Blue, ran over the varmints that messed with the Stang. Now all is good in the NW

    I typically do not take mine all the way up. I like to sit on my adjustable height roll around stool with the tool tray. Also I find I have it easier tilting my old head back far enough to get my tri-focals to work.

    You will want the lift that has nearly 7’ under the runways at max lift.  You will use it for storage more than you will use it for actual work.  With the shorter lift, it will always be a forehead banger, even at max lift.

    As for working height, I am 5’-8” tall and I find the best height is when the top of the runway is right at eye level.  I don’t remember EVER Putting it higher than that to actually work on the car.

    Money you enjoy wasting is NOT wasted money... unless your wife finds out.

    What MS says....My lift will raise the bottom of the runways 6' 9" above the floor.  This means that I give up very little of my working floor space when I'm not actually working on a car.  I'm even planning to install a couple of LED tubes under the non-cylinder runway to provide a little more working light.

    For working on a car I normally bring it up to 5'9".

    Also...invest in the hydraulic rail jack if you can swing it.  Handy, handy, handy.

    Thank you all for the input. I too was thinking of doing lights under it. And DC I know where you are coming from, my dad had a len in the top of his glasses just so he didnt have to tilt his head while looking up. It works very well. I had inplants done so right now I dont where my glasses a lot. Should of had tell-a-photo lens  though,with maybe a app on my phone to zoom them too. LOL

    Slammed Big Blue, ran over the varmints that messed with the Stang. Now all is good in the NW
