Sun Visors Falling...

Anyone got a fix for those those sun visors that won't stay up?  Mine seem to fall about 30 degrees after any kind of driving shakes them a bit.  I'm constantly just lifting them back up.  I'm so tall and the car sits so low I never need them anyway.  Double sided tape seems tempting.

Re: Sun Visors Falling...

I had the same problem on the 67. I glued and wrapped fine grit sandpaper on the shaft. Problem solved.

Re: Sun Visors Falling...

I also similar problems and agree w/red351's solution.  You can try cleaning the shafts w/alcohol, or a small wrap of tape.
My issue was that the visors were very difficult to move, so I lubed the shafts, then they wouldn't stay up!

Re: Sun Visors Falling...

Do the Mustang Steve fix!! Squirt the visor full (well not FULL full) of RTV  and slide the shaft in. Let it set up and then force it up & down loosening the RTV. I did that many-many years ago and it still works great!
Simple cheap.....a great combination!
