installed 03 cobra brakes on a 65 falcon. What has been done in reguard to the brake hoses? The paperwork mentions going another route.. the original hoses look like they will hit the upper control arms, just from mock up.
Let me know. THANKS

The original hoses and the Cobra calipers I believe are incompatible. The Cobra calipers are metric whereas the original hardware is all standard. The simplest solution would likely be to use the Cobra brake hoses and an adapter fitting between the factory hard line and the Cobra soft line. Or possibly there are correct hoses made that have one metric end and one standard end. That's how I did it on my '89 GT with the Cobra brakes. If those hoses will work they are from Maximum Motorsports. Here's a link:

You need to relocate the hose mounting bracket to a position under the uca as shown. Stock hoses will then fit. These are stainless hoses, but I used to have original rubber type on the car.
Note one hose has 7/16” threads and one has 3/8” threads on the SAE inverted flare End of the hoses. Caliper end is a 10mm metric banjo fitting. We can supply the 7/16” thread tube nut for 3/16” tubing as they are hard to find. You have to make new hard lines.

I've had good luck with custom brake lines from Inline Tube. They are very helpful. Just give them the length and what kind of connector at each end. That's it. Not very costly and they turned my order around in less than a week.

MS. Which stock hoses would you be referring to? I have a pair of the 03 mustang ones in the box that i got when ordering parts just not knowing. . The metal part of that hose looks like it is going to hit the upper control arm. Thank you.

Using an aftermarket hose may make it work easier. I had forgotten about the hard line that is part of the factory hose. Replacement stock hoses do not have the hard line section. Also, generic hoses with a simpler design banjo fitting may allow you to rotate the banjo fitting, pointing the hose to a better fitting position.

I used custom hoses and being able to clock the banjo a bit really helped. This is with the GT brakes, not Cobra but I think the idea is the same. Hmmm, I probably should have an extra set of hoses made up too.

I used Inline Tube for all four of my hoses.
I ran each rear brake separately to location above front spring mount for leafs.
I’m using 2016 front and rear brakes.
They have a variety of lengths and fittings available.
Just make sure when ordering from eBay you know if quantity is “each” or “pair”.
That was my fault.
Fast delivery too.
I used the “GM” hoses.
Banjo on one end and inverted flare on other.
The style I purchased has the stainless hose with adapters for each end.
