I BEEN WORKING SECURITY AT MY LOCAL HOSPITAL FOR THE LAST 5 YEARS COMING UP THIS AUGUST 10TH. I DRIVE THE MUSTANG ALMOST DAILY TO WORK.

Some of you are too new to the forum to know BILLY WALTON.  He speaks in all CAPS, so don't expect that to change. It's just the way it is.  He has been a fixture on this forum since it started in 1999.  He attended the very first bash and subsequesnt others, hosting one in his hometown of Carrollton, GA.  He took a break from posting after he had some marital issues, but is now happily hitched again and reconnecting to the forum.  Welcome him back. --- MS

Re: WHAT HAS EVEYBODY BEEN UP TO DURING THIS COVID YEAR????

We are hibernating, only visiting with other known people in the neighborhood and eating out rarely, only at local places where they are taking precautions.  Luckily, I have plenty to keep me busy at home, building the new shop and game room.  I still have flooring, plumbing fixtures and painting to get done before I can move in.  The older I get, the slower the progress.

HEY, BILLY WALTON! Good to hear from you. I'm retired now, and just laying low with this damned virus thing. Good to see you are still driving that Mustang. Don't be a stranger - log in more often!

Hiding out at the house here in Chesapeake Va. We haven’t been anywhere since March. No stores or restaurants, not even take out. They tell use we are high risk so we are taking this thing seriously. Good to hear from you Billy.

Re: WHAT HAS EVEYBODY BEEN UP TO DURING THIS COVID YEAR????

Hey Billy! Haven't ever met you but have seen some of your posts. We'll need to meet sometime. My wife got laid off so decided to retire it. She's mostly bored. I'm still working on my car A/C and fixing airplanes as they come along. Doing it all by my lonesome to stay away from the covid. The house is falling apart but HomeDe Pot ain't gonna me.

Re: WHAT HAS EVEYBODY BEEN UP TO DURING THIS COVID YEAR????

Been super busy work wise.  This whole thing just did not affect my business, and in fact since reopening has started its gotten exponentially more busy.  Actually haven't had much time to mess with anything car wise that wasn't necessary maintenance.

Re: WHAT HAS EVEYBODY BEEN UP TO DURING THIS COVID YEAR????

We've been hanging out like the rest.  The gas station has been visited only about once a month in all 3 cars combined.  Mostly trips to the grocery store.  Every other week I visit Home Depot for softener salt.  We also see some neighbors for wine and conversation safely on a patio.

Re: WHAT HAS EVEYBODY BEEN UP TO DURING THIS COVID YEAR????

Wife and I are hanging out as others have posted.  Fixing things on the house and the Mustang, planning future projects for it, ordering parts, etc.  Not seeing, or holding, two new grand children since this began is really frustrating ... video conferences only help so much.

Re: WHAT HAS EVEYBODY BEEN UP TO DURING THIS COVID YEAR????

We both have been hiding here at home since April. Bonnie had a knee replacement July 1'st so I'm been the nurse /housekeeper and cook, but I do find time to go out to the garage. I have really shorten the list of all the little thing that have been needed fix for yrs. The 67 always had a problem that it would overheat in slow traffic, so I made some big changes. We are having a record hot summer, so perfect time to see if that problem is solved.   We hope everyone here is staying safe from this new normal world...

Re: WHAT HAS EVEYBODY BEEN UP TO DURING THIS COVID YEAR????

Finished 5 mo working (teaching) remotely without any glitches.
Making tremendous progress on Mustang projects, converting the 67 and the 70 Boss over to 8-stack fuel injection.
Great to hear from you, Billy. Thanks for visiting the forum again.

Bingo! Yep, that's me. Plus 75 lbs and minus $700 mil. My routine hasn't change much as I pretty much go where I want.

I have started a few Mustang projects: a third pedal, which needed a 3.25 TL pumpkin. Replace ill functioning Spal power window motors with Nu-Reluc power regulators. Which requires tweaking one of the arms as Nu-Relic apparently doesn't know 69 and 70 are slightly different. Also had to redo the switch panel. Just started gathering parts for air conditioning, which on 69s means a different lower dash, or cut round holes in a convex panel. To save a bit of frustration a bought a lower dash.

That will be an interesting project. Going factory or aftermarket?

Yes I am. Absolutely.

Not sure yet. But whichever way I go, I won't give up my fresh air vent.

Not sure if I've mentioned it, butt I'll be adding a third pedal once I get the linkage squared away.

Re: WHAT HAS EVEYBODY BEEN UP TO DURING THIS COVID YEAR????

Rudi,

Two mocked up motors on right with 8-stack EFI.
Low one: Fresh 289 Hi-Po/331 stroker, D00E heads race-prepped, Shelby track motor
High one on stand: Al McG’s old 351W, freshened upper end, for 1970 Mustang
To the left: LS3 to power 1950 Chevy pickup street rod project (out of picture)

I’m not as bad as Daze (cheapest-ars-DIY’er-ever) (no one will ever be that cheap, ever), but I lucked in to the EFI units at the garage sale and auction at the bankrupt company that built Elenors (Ultimate Performance in Dallas). Sent the units back to manufacturer to be tested and updated with latest ECU software.

EFI is not my strong suit so when I do one EFI Swap, I also try to knock out the same on my other projects. This has been the “Year of Fuel Injection” learning and attempting.

My little hobby ‘ManCave‘ where I wait out COVID and hope that we don’t have to teach college classes remotely one more day!!
