I came across what appears to be a 289 five bolt with a automatic trans. the engine appears to be unmolested. is there any value in this other than scrap?

SCRAP? thats what i have in my car, you mean I need to get rid of it?

See... beauty is in the eye of the beer holder. Or, something like that.

never cared for the taste of beer, I was thinking of someone who might be wanting to restore an early mustang back to original. seems that this site might not be where purest reside, but then ya never know.

My neighbor has a 65 T code fastback I have been trying to convince to convert to a real engine. That would be perfect, except for the five bolt part.

it is my understanding that the 5 bolt had a vibration issue, don't know that I recall that correctly or not. none the less, there can't be too many of them left. under the sending unit the is a aluminum tag showing it to be a 289. still has the generator on it too.

I thought 5 bolts with generators were 260s?

I need to go turn the engine upside down and get the casting numbers off the bottom of the block to get a better idea of what it actually is. any other distinguishing features that would be a tell tale sign of what it actually is, i'd like like to remove any doubt.
