I landed my plane there once after a low pass at 200 mph. Does that count?

Speed Week is happening as we speak.

Been there a couple of times. It's a blast!

Running cool at 150 MPH!
When it's hot on the "flats" do what Rollie Free did in 1948.

He has a helmet on. I wonder if it's for aerodynamics?

The helmet prevents static in the hair...just like riding to town in the back of the pickup as a kid.
You can say that again Chaplin.

Four of my gang are there RAT NOW. I elected to stay home and break Messtang parts. BVille definitely should be on every gearhead's Bucket-List along with the Air Races at Reno. I did that in 09 and if warbirds and radial engines turn your crank that's the place to get fixed up.

Wife and I stopped by one time and drove the 72 out a ways. That dang salt cakes on to everything and I worry about our road salt back home.

Bonneville is an experience not to be missed. Most of the pits will let you take a good look at their vehicles and are friendly. On the salt flats, I would take a rental car as the salt can cake and bake onto the car in long sections over 6 inches thick. There is a car wash in Wendover that gets a lot of use. Also stop by the Wendover Airfield-this is where they practiced loading for the Enola Gay and other wartime activities.

REMEMBER!!! When posting a question about your Mustang or other Ford on this forum, BE SURE to tell us what it is, what year, engine, etc so we have enough information to go on. |
