Sorry Bob, I guess my main bearings look pretty good now. Butt (TS&T) why was the compression down in two cylinders?

Why? At this point since the block won't be reused, I'm not sure it matters. But we don't know for sure at this juncture. This just came to mind, it could be related to the guy doing the compression check😁
I resemble that remark! My diagnosis was a blown head gasket and I seem to have been incorrect.
Rod bearings should be in good shape as they only have 15K on them. I would definately replace the clutch while you have the engine out. Not a fun job with the engine in the car.

And the fan belt too, since it's been sitting and rotting for 20 years.

Welllllllllllll as per our "conver"......that Murr-cedes sounded pretty nasty with a big block in it!!
Talk about being-the-hit-of-the-party/cruise in"!!
Being a turbo car I bet those parts would bring some nice change on the parts market...+.....tranny and rear end bound to be plenty tough for big block out put..
Jus say'in

No fan belt. The timing belt and water pump were new 20K ago. They be cheap so I would replace them also.
AC is R12 and I have 30lb jug of R12 here. Still have one car that uses it.
