Update on the Heap....

I got the assembled short block back yesterday along with the re-doctored AFR heads.  Hard to believe just how bad aftermarket heads of supposed quality can be.  They still are not perfect but are a lot better than when they came out of the box.
Got a custom ground cam from Sal's favorite cam grinder, Delta Cams in Tacoma, WA.  Their guy Ken is a good man to talk to.  They fixed me up with just over .500 lift on 220/224 duration and 114.5 LSA.  Should make a nice low end, EFI friendly setup.

The 4R70W is all apart, cleaned, and piled on the bench waiting for me to finish the necessary wiring changes.  I also need to do a Daze and fire up the lathe and make some bushing drivers.   At the rate I work (on the car) it'll probably be November or maybe even December before it's back on the road.

I'll keep y'all posted.

Re: Update on the Heap....

Ohhhhhhhhhhh....Delta Cams can grind  'non-snotty' cams?!  Whoda-thunk-it

Hope you got some reeeeal soft rear tarz on that 'heap'.....prolly wanna git side-wise when that whole combo starts working.
You gonna "adjust" that computer controlled 'slush box' to upshift at 6000+rpm ? I mean.......it IS a hotrod, right?!
Can't wait fer a ride!!
