    braided wire coverings

    i like the look of the braided wire coverings.

    Anyone have a source or brand that is good quality but doesn't cost as much as something like the painless brand. Stuff is pretty pricey.

    I've used these guys https://www.techflex.com/, specifically the Clean Cut product. It's available on Amazon and pretty reasonably priced.

    I used techflex split loom got it from amazon 

    65 coupe, 351w, c4, power disk brakes, power r&p, vintage air.

    I used scissors, if the ends did fray I used a lighter to fix it. At the wire ends I did use heat shrink to ensure everything stayed in place.

    scissor cut, hit with a lighter, I wrapped my end with cloth tape. I'm planning on replacing my wiring when i do i will use heat shrink on the ends, much cleaner look

    65 coupe, 351w, c4, power disk brakes, power r&p, vintage air.

    Bullet Bob gave me the name of a place that sells glue lined heat shrink top help with the terminated ends....can't remember the name for some reason right now!!!

    You can use a soldering gun to cut the braiding to keep it from unraveling.  I use my Weller 100/140 watt gun that I made a cutting tip with a #12 wire between the two terminals, flattening it in the middle to create a cutting edge.  However, you can use the the regular soldering tip, but the cut isn't as clean.  

    65 Fastback, 351W, 5-speed, 4 wheel discs, 9" rear,  R&C Front End.
