PVC can be evil. You can buy 3 of the same #, and all 3 will have a different personality. Vacuum gauge it, and pick the one you like best

I did end up purchasing the awfully expensive MEWagner PCV valve. I followed the instructions and it works great.

How well does your PCV work?
I replaced the PCV, Fram FV329, with the Wagner unit in August 2018. I was able to pick up 1”-1.5” of vacuum, 16” to 17-17.5”, and was able to adjust (lean) the idle mixture and idle speed from about 1000 RPM to about 850-900 RPM. I’m satisfied with the results.
