    strut rod rubber bushings.....

    May have asked this once...butt-eye forgot..........Would worn out bushings make these 65/67 Mustangs handle/steer weird? I think mine are 50= years old!
    Guess it's time to change them out regardless,just wondering what kind of changes I should expect.

    Does it dart to one side when you hit the brakes?  Does it go CLUNK when you hit a bump or hit the brakes hard, or right after you hit the brakes hard, and the suspension settles?

    If they are loose, you are basically letting the LCA walk around, changing the caster as it goes.

    But with those drum brakes, who would notice?

    Money you enjoy wasting is NOT wasted money... unless your wife finds out.

    It is hard to believe that one of the preiminent members of this forum is still running around with front drum brakes on his elderly Mustang.  I guess we now know who doesn't put his money where his.............!

    '66 Fastback since July 27, 1981. Springtime Yellow, originally a 200 cu in, 4 speed. Also a '92 LX Coupe, 5.0, 5 speed.

    If you replace the strut rod bushings, I'd suggest rubber and not poly.  I changed my poly out with genuine rubber and it was much nicer ride on the Houston bash trip.
