Only if you have a place for it to hit. Otherwise I'd leave it off. Pinion support bolts should be torqued to 30-35 lbs/ft.

I would transfer it.
Think of it as a partial girdle...3/5 bolts tied together.

My car had the rubber piece on the body of the car so I removed the rubber part from the bracket on the 3rd member.

Interesting, but it wouldn't do anything for strength. The weak place in the 9" case is the pocket bearing bore. Every one I've ever seen fail popped a little semi circle piece of the casing off right at that bore. The thing most people never talk about in the 9" as it pertains to strength is that the pinion bearings are simply too close together. That necessitated the pocket bearing, and only the nodular cases seem strong enough to prevent a failure there. Though installing a solid pinion spacer instead of a crush sleeve will help longevity quite a lot.

Mine has it on the body too.
