I guess a drum costs mire than those crappy little jacks, but not sure how it would grip the drum on a mustang. Food for thought.

Would have to make a clamshell setup like removing p/s pulley.

Or lots of other rear drums. I found that an angle grinder with a cut-off wheel works fairly well. Of course the drum is sacrificed.

That might work on the front as the hub, bearings and drum come off together. You would have to make sure you didn't muff up the spindle. The rears that method aint gonna work.

One of the things Dodge got right on Caravans was a threaded hole on the rear drums. Insert bolt and as long as it doesn't strip you are golden!

HF has those jacks pretty cheap. I have a 20 ton one I use to pick up houses with when doing structural work. Best $30 I think I've ever spent on a tool.
I have found that spraying all the surfaces where the drum and axle or hub meet with Kroil and letting it sit for a day works magic as well. I had one frozen to the axle in my '86 IROC. I pulled the shaft out with the drum still frozen in place. Applied liberal amounts of Kroil. The next day, one whack with a deadblow mallet and the drum fell right off.

a pneumatic hammer vibrating the fillings loose in the stuck drum to help the penetrating oil do it's job also works wonders
