TMI seats

I have a small issue ,I replaced the front seat with TMI seats old seat frames were bad,With the adapters that came with my head hits the roof car is a 71 March ,my plan is to make a flat adapter .Problem is that it requires me to remove the mounting tabs from the tracks.Plan is to make flat tabs andweld to tracks old tabs were riveted on .Any problem with welding them on as far as strength?

If its worth doing do it right !

Re: TMI seats

A proper welding job will work fine. Welds are used on pretty much every part of the car, including steering and brakes.

Re: TMI seats

Had the same problem with my TMI seats.I bought the seat extenders and drilled and bolted the to the seats.  I removed the sear adjusters for more room.  Bolted the seats in.  Worked pretty well.

Re: TMI seats

I too noted that I sat higher in the new seats but after driving for a few 100 miles the seats have broke in and that is not a problem anymore.

Slammed Big Blue, ran over the varmints that messed with the Stang. Now all is good in the NW
