FYI Ford, Classic Mustang Tech Discussion » Master cylinder for Steves brake kit » 10/27/2013 6:07 PM |
I have the 05- 09 brake kit on my 65 coupe using the whole kit from Steve. One thing I dont like about the kit is that the brake lines leave the master towards the engine. I would love a compatible master that the brake lines route toward the fender instead. This makes the plumbing so much cleaner and adds room for spark plug changes on my 351W block. Has anyone done this yet? I was think about getting an SVO master but not sure if the bore size will work.
Thanks,
Chuck

I finally got the engine out of the mustang for the 408W swap so I have some stuff to get out of the garage. The engine has C4XXXX 2 barrel intake manifold and exhaust manifolds. It has a Carter fuel pump with FOMOCO filter on it. The carb I dont know how to decifer, but if you let me know what to look for I will check it out. The bottom end has turned out to be a 221 ci C2OE-8015-G short block and I havent yet pulled a valve cover off to see what the heads belong to.
The trans is a C4 that worked great and has 5 bolt bellhousing but it had cracked at some point and has been welded up.
If there are anyparts you want let me know i am expecting to scrap the motor even though it ran great because I simply have nowhere to put it.
This car had a complete A/C system on it but it do not operate. The system wasnt charged and I could not get the compressor to kick in when I turned it on not sure what is going on there but i didnt need it so I didnt investigate to far.
I can take detailed photos of anything your intesested in, please dont be afraid to ask. Make me an offer on anything but I live in Canada so shipping costs might be higher than your used to

Do you tighten the #7 header tube on the Hedman 351W swap long tube headers?? I have tried top, bottom (impossible) and everything in between. Tonite I am taking the longest 3/8 wrench I have and have it modified into a candy cane shape to see if I can get it that way. I know you have done this thats why I am asking.
By the way great job on the new board it was a much needed update.
