FYI Ford, Classic Mustang Tech Discussion » Found out why the Galaxie was such a vaunted performer » 6/27/2013 2:38 PM |
Float is right for some of the old Galaxies. Buddy had a 65 with the 352 in it and it had a good bit of power, but high rear gear and everything set up to float down the farm roads. I think it was also like 17 turns to go from lock to lock on the steering.
Loved that car.

Looks like you have it covered. If that doesn't work out, give me a shout. I'm also in Colleyville.

Lots of the 71-73 cars came stock with 3:1 gearing, including my 71. They will work fine.
Having said that, if your only goal is 10 mpg, you can likely do that with your current gears and I know you can do it with 3.50 gears, which is what I run behind a 351C/FMX setup [YMMV with application of your foot].
