The car that the rear end is going in is a 68 mustang coupe. with the rear end on it i only have 4 inches of clearance before it will hit the quarter panel. Do you guys think a wheel with 5.5 in backsapce will look like a modern wheel set up? I really love the look of a deep lip wheels on the back.  i called my local junk yard today they said they will take 450 for a explorer rear end as if they were hooking me up...

Im back at the forum again, i want to thank you all for responses to prior questions i had. This forum is very helpful. Well i spend alot of time reserching narrowing a 8.8 but most of the information i came accross was on narrowing explorer rear ends. What i want to do is narrow a 94 ford mustang gt 8.8 rear end about 1 inch on each side so that i can keep the 4.5 backspace for the wheels, is  there is a easy way of doing this without  having to buy new axles and take all the components out of the rear end?

Hello everyone, i recently fininshed putting the engine, transmission and rear end on my 68 mustang coupe. the donor was a 95 mustang gt with t5 and found out that the original driveline from the 95 is about 6 inches to short. Are there any donor cars that i could get one from that wontn't need lenghened or shortened? what would be the best and least expensive option?

Hello everyone, I have ran into a problem with the timing cover. I have a 94 5.0 motor that I'm transplanting into a 68 mustang but I don't know what to do about the timing cover, if I keep the original cover that came with the 5.0 I won't have a place for a dipstick. I also have a timing cover from a 92 5.0 that would bolt up but the water pump is about 2 inches taller and my pulley won't line up with the crank. Also if I go with the 92 timing cover I don't know if the brackets from 94 would fit. I'm planing serpentine belt without any accessories. Any. Suggestions?
