I just read that the Pate Swap Meet in Dallas is about the same time. Probably a better use of my time.
Anybody want to have a mini bash and go to the swap meet?

I'm in for a pate/mini bash.   Emberglo girl is still down waiting the doc ok to use right arm/hand.  Might have it running ??

The old emberglo girl had engine problems. After 21 bashes It  has a fatal problem that couldnt be fixed at a gas station in middle of far west Texas.   I now call her my trailor QUEEN.    We missed the trip and missed meeting up with everyone. We so wanted to visit that part of the country.   Sooooo who/where/when is next years bash ?   I have to schedule my engine replacement (maybe fix it) because I have shoulder surgery oct 24 and doc says I'm not going to be able to use right arm for 3-6 months ??? like thats NOT going to stop me.  Again so sorry we couldn't meet up with everyone.

With over 3.5 k miles planned trip driving this year, it's time to upgrade wipers that work.  Mine leave the glass at any mph over 65.   Any suggestions ?  I replaced / upgraged arm to new stock looking aftermarkets. Same friggn issue they lift off glass??  NOT good for driving with wife screaming ?

I think Don is running his original Ford pump on his 66 GT with Borgeson box. Maybe he will see this post and respond

I had problems with the ford pump, seemed not enought pressure.  Put on the borgenson  recommended and runs fine.  The only issue was the mounting bracket hit top of fuel pump.  After modification all work good now.

zray crossmember instruction are very detailed and mentioned hole might need adjusting.  I didn't notice any improvement over stock brace but last year  I did add a upper cowl brace over the stock set up.  This added noticeable improvement to structure. Took car in for a correct radial tire alignment,, and now car tracks great and true at 70 mph.  Having lower crossmember and upper support braces ties structure together.

I have a 1" sway bar and the Montecarlo bar. I'm not too familiar with the upper cowl brace. Do you have a photo?
I tried fitting an export brace, but it interfered with the cobra air filter, so I'm sticking with the stock braces that Ford provided.

yep cowl brace = x port brace ,,, I bought one off cj poney,  It came with hyme (SP?) joints because I couldn't get a factory x port brace to fit,,, tried everything, long story.   I did  lock down joints.  Yep I did a engineering stucture analysis after all the noted on web issues of hyme joints movements.  My car is a daily driver/hw cruiser.  The spec limits/requirements I used are lower.

I put z/ray / w /pad  on last month.   Had to extend frame bolt holes on brace to 0.25 inch each side.  Also be sure to use the correct bolts to frame.

Nice! Did you notice much of a difference with it tightening up the front end?
Does the crossmember come with instructions?
I wonder if your front end was out of whack for you to be required to modify the bolt holes?
