Re: Has anyone got the reverse eye 5 leaf springs on their car?

I have 5 leaf reverse eyes on my 68.  Its LOW.  Tire is in the wheel well.  I picked them up cheap to try them out.  Probably going to go with mid-eye.  I also have explorer 8.8 swapped in so it adds to the drop too though.  Without the 8.8, I think the height would have been perfect.

New here and don't see how to load a Pic or I would drop it in.

I have them on my fastback. Ride is great. I also have 3/8” spacers to get it a little lower.

I have reverse eye leaf springs on my fastback. Photo is with a trunk full of tools, floor jack, spares aka "The Bakersfield squat" which to me is just about right. Unloaded doesn't look as good. I am thinking about 1" lowering blocks to get her to look like this unloaded. MS, how thick are your blocks?

Re: Has anyone got the reverse eye 5 leaf springs on their car?

My advice would be to dearch the springs.  I hate lowering blocks on cars as much as I hate lift blocks on trucks.  They create a lever that acts on the rear housing under hard acceleration.  3/8" I think I could live with, but definitely not 1" or more.

I agree but depends on the HP

Might actually depend on how the car is driven even more.  The heavier the right foot the more concerned I would become.  Spending some years rebuilding transmissions, t-cases, and rears as a side hustle I quickly learned that the driver makes all the difference in longevity.  I saw so many broken T5s come out of stock or nearly cars I lost count.  I also built a Z-spec (all stock parts) T5 for a Camaro that the owner drifted and he never broke it during the 5 years he ran the car.  I new a guy from the track that has a 5.0 that had a stock T5 that ran 10s and pulled the front wheels on the launch.  To the best of my knowledge he never broke it.  Rears were the same.  As strong as everyone will tell you a 9" is guess what rear I saw broken the most?  Yep, and typically in pretty mild vehicles that the Owners just thrashed.  I'm convinced the driver makes all the difference.

Re: Has anyone got the reverse eye 5 leaf springs on their car?

I had 5.5 grab trac leafs on my old 65 fastback.   I had 1" lower coil springs and did the Shelby drop.  Car had a perfect stance.  I'll see if I have any other pictures of it.   Here the transport driver is picking it up when I sold it.   Miss that car.   My first full restoration and full paint job.

Re: Has anyone got the reverse eye 5 leaf springs on their car?

I have 4- leaf reverse eyes in the rear.  ' In front, there are 1" lowering GT springs and Shelby drop.  I love the stance.
