Like I don't have enough to do, I've got a buddy who has a set of Halibrand Cobra III 17x9 front and 18x10 rear wheels he'l sell me for $600. I know the rears fit fine, but those fronts, hmm. The tires are toast and just for rollers and they're 275/40, rears are 295/35 or 40. I've got enough adjustment on the front arms to bring the tires in half an inch. I think I'll buy them.
First pic is 11-1/2" from wheel center to fender wheel opening.

So those 17’s will clear your front brakes?
Who needs anemones when you have fronds like us

Naa, had to remove the caliper as it rubbed a bit. I hope to use the old 13" rotors and make a new caliper bracket. I have a set of Ford Mustang 17" wheels that cleared about 270° of wheel rotation.

Sure! You can make that car fit those wheels!

18 X 10" rims should reeeeeally net some super-duper MPG with that 2.50:1 "bash-gears" rear end. Can you sayyyyyyyyy Bonneville?! 2nd gear...wound out...should exceed all known speed limits in US!! And ya still got TWO more to go!)
Naaa jus teas'in!!
Orta look sweet when you get'em mounted!
You're not gonna be forced to run those 'rubberband' style tyres on it are you?
Classics like yours look soooo much cooler (to me) with some sidewalls on those big rumz!
Really like the set-up on the front that allows adjustments like you have!
Are the lips on your fenders rolled in?

Sal, those 2.50 gears are like sooo last year. I've got 3.25s now with the .78 OD gear. Keep up with the changes brother.

Oh I too love the look of sidewalls on 15 inch wheels. Butt years ago I was looking thru a popular Mustang forum website that had this cool setup that mounted 13 inch Cobra brakes, and just had to have them. I first had 17x8 on all four corners, but now have 18x8 around.

Yes they're rolled. If fact rolling all four was the first mod I did to the 69. Followed by the Arning drop, and by then I had entered the rabbit hole.

Man, if I were to start another company...
RABBIT HOLE RACING
Haven’t we all entered that workspace at some point? And are still chasing the issues we brought upon ourselves?
And, now wiser, we still keep chasing that rabbit?
Hey... it keeps us out of the tiddy bars...

That my friends was a dead nuts on post. I use a similar line at least weekly to describe my time spent on the Mustang ... it keeps me out of bars.

Nice score. I’m hoping to install a similar rim on my car.
REMEMBER!!! When posting a question about your Mustang or other Ford on this forum, BE SURE to tell us what it is, what year, engine, etc so we have enough information to go on. |
