I've been ordering wheel centercaps from Amazon.   Jegs had a sale at Christmas 4 centercaps for $80.  Plus shipping.   Wife poo pooed it.   I then found them on Amazon sold individually for $20 prime shipping.   I've been ordering 1 a month it has kept her happy.  Cap #3 is supposed to be here tommorow.

F Amazon. The last 5 or so orders from them say delivery next day, or two days. Then they send an email saying delivery 5 to 7 days out. They can kma.

Last order from Summit took nearly two weeks to get here from the Reno warehouse but that was due to our wonderful postal circus...which has been raped for years by our wonderful elected...wish I could say ejected...congress.  So I can't blame Summit and will continue to give them what little bidness I do. 
I do use Amazon for some general crapo stuff but have found a number of items cheaper elsewhere...that "free" second day shipping ain't free, but then nothing is and any more it ain't second day either on most stuff.
 

Flea Bay...Summit and Jegs have listings there as well.

Heaven forbid you need details on item before a purchase...petty much nonexistent on Scamazon.

Summit, Jegs, and RockAuto used to be better on descriptions guess they’re keeping up with the Amazons.

Frustrating when something as simple as thread pitch can’t be found.

Pay attention to the “ships directly from manufacturer”...CJP famous quote on “sale items” too...seriously.

I almost always check pricing on any large purchase, and if I need something immediately I definitely check Amazon.  I find that for most OEM parts the pricing on Amazon is the same or more than the other sources I use like Auto Nation and Subaru Parts Warehouse, so usually I buy from them.  Aftermarket parts I tend to use Rock Auto for regular service parts or the local NAPA, and Summit for performance stuff.

What I will say is I was able to get a bath remodel done for a customer on an absurdly tight schedule because I got the tub, tub faucet, and shower kit from Amazon and they delivered in time at no additional cost. 

I'll also add that Amazon's hassle free return policy is putting a lot of other businesses to shame.  Fill out an online form, print a label, drop in mail or drop off at Kohls.  By contrast I spent a week arguing with a vendor over a part that didn't fit because their website description was wrong.  I ended up paying return shipping because they were just intransigent about it, even after I clearly proved the error was not mine. 

I try and buy most stuff from Summit unless my order is less than $99 and doesn't qualify for free shipping (my orders are almost never less than $99). As noted above, Summit is very good about price matching.  When I bought the tires for my car, Summit was about $25 more per tire than Tire Rack or Amazon (can't remember which right now), so I called Summit to let them know. They put me on hold for about 5 minutes and then came back and said they'd match the price, no problem.

I was using Tire Rack for years and picking up the tires at their warehouse to save shipping, BUT there is now a mobile tire installation service that I can use.  Tire Rack ships to them, at no cost, and then I schedule an appointment and they come out and mount and balance the tires without me even having to go anywhere.  Best part is: its the same cost as taking the tires or vehicle to a shop. 
 

We have Amazon prime so almost everything we buy is shipped for free.  We’ve had to return shoes before and it was a very simple process. 

I try to buy ford parts when working on our daily drivers and always check Amazon but Rock Auto almost always beats everyone’s prices on original ford parts. 

I haven’t had to purchase anything from Summit in a very long time but will be very soon.  If my research shows that the Amazon item is identical to the Summit item then I would most like save $30 and buy it from Amazon.

That would be a pretty slick local service to have.
