And then the gods rested, This has been very hard on me for some time now as it got to me. Go figure.
It has been 10 weeks since I got my engine back from the shop, and started my assembly and install. Hey i got 50 miles on it with flat lobes and all. And 2 weeks since the shop said they would make it right. They rebuilt the whole bottom end with new bearings, gave me a new cam, cam bearings, lifters, heads, made sure the pushrods were correct. Making sure there was no coil bind. All the gaskets and new break in oil. It is going in tomorrow. Tonight It had the oil pumped through its veins and the intake is set. Tomorrow we will install and break in the new cam. This time I will make sure we have much advance as needed and there is no intake leaks. Also just incase I will only put in water. Then we can drain and install the antifreeze
YEAH I am so happy again.

thumbs up-thumbs up!!!!!
Fill the carb bowls with gas........triple check the firing order......fully charged battery (and fire extinguisher!!)....advance the dizzy and leave it a little loose so you can give it a turn if it doesn't fire right-away. I like to use Brakleen (I love that stuff) or carb cleaner squirted down the open carb to insure a good shot of fuel..........butt that's just me!
I have the garden hose charged and near by to re-fill the radiator...if necessary.
You GOT-DIS-THANG this time

Hello everyone,
Yesterday we fired it up again. Broke in the cam with NO glowing headers. Temp held around 185-198 max for a 20 minute burn at 2000-2500. Radiator burped one time. Now I will drain the water and put in my antifreeze and check torque on headers. No leaks. Going to retime as 2 plug wires came off at some point after the brake in. Maybe I will be driving around today...YEAH
