So I want to remove my roof skin on my 1965 Mustang coupe. So after cutting the factory braze on the front pillars ill drill the spot welds on both window channels then ill drill the spot welds on the sail panels. Then do I need to drill the spot welds on the top of the drip railS? I was thinking would it be easier to take a cut off wheel and cut the flange that ties the roof to the drip rail? Then simply weld along that edge to reinstall the roof skin.

I used my cut off wheel and just ground down all the spot welds and peeled the skin and sail panels off. Then bonded the new roof and sail panels back in place. I have pictures but I don't think we can post pictures yet.

Awesome thank you. I really hate to change the whole roof skin for the sail panel and misc rust spots. But the rust does need to be taken care of.

Did you drill out all the spot welds on the drip rail from top?
