My '67 Coupe has the deluxe door panels with the aluminum inserts. I have never been keen on them - personal preference. I have seen photos of the '68 door panels and I think that they appeal to me. Could someone tell me if the '68 panels have trim around them or are they complete if I order a couple. Would the clip holes for the '68 panels align with the '67 doors? Thanks for any suggestions.

I have a '68. I did a thread about how I sealed my door panel and mounted it using magnets. The photos in this thread may be helpful to your questions.

Great article and great ideas! I will definitely use this. Many thanks!

I got the magnet idea from someone else, so not my original idea. I have gotten so much help from these forums. My thread was just showing how I decided to do mine including sealing and strengthening the sad cardboard we get these days.

OK Rufus68, I found the magnets on EBay and placed an order. I'm sure I'll be hitting you up for help when I get started. Thanks again

The magnet idea for the door panels is excellent and thanks for the detailed write up. I've about ruined the backs of mine with the stupid clips. I wish the reproduction door panels came with magnets. Such a great idea!! 👍

For Rufus68 - I've now got the materials to do my door panels. A question about the magnets. Mine are N48 1" X 1/8" - damn they are strong. I've learned the hard way to keep them separated. Anyway, I'm not sure but it looks like there may be a small gap between the magnets on the door and the sheet metal on the panel. Considering the strength of the magnets, would this be a problem? Thanks for any advice.

I encountered the same issue. Look at the second photo in my how-to thread and read the description. It shows that I used washers and 3M industrial double sided tape to make up the height difference.

Rufus68 - So, as I mentioned in the PM I thought that the gap between the magnet and the door panel would be an issue so I used the washers and a magnet that you spoke about. Unfortunately I couldn't get the window crank to engage so I removed the washers and tried it with one magnet all the way around. Fits like a glove and the window crank works fine. I should have tried that in the 1st place. Thanks again for your help.
