I have a Mustang Friend that has a question. He isn't an internet type

He has a 66 coupe that he installed a Mustang II front end on. He has a 351 Cleveland with a C6 transmission on it. Seems to be having problems with the engine mounts and tranny mounts not aligning right.
Anyone done this? Any advice  for Ron. He doesn't do internet much that I can tell. I told him I would pose the question.

I put MII in my truck. If he installed it and the mounts don’t line up, well… he didn’t line things up right. What is the specific question?

Is the 351 and C6 going to fit in the car? I know nothing about the C6. Are there specific engine mounts and tranny mounts for this set up?  I haven't seen the car. He just tells me about it at work.

Sure, it will fit if shock towers are removed. Heck, it would fit without removing them.  A friend in Dallas has a Boss 351 in his 66 convertible, but had to use 2v exhaust manifolds on it.
Motor mounts depend on what his MII kit requires.  I modified mine to use 66 Mustang v8 rubber mounts. Because, when you are MustangSteve, everything looks like a 66…

As MS stated, with the shock towers removed there is no issue with the Cleveland fitting side to side.  There may be an issue with the front oil sump and oil pan fitting with the MII front end.  The C6 is physically bigger so I'm not sure it will fit w/o some modifications.  I would recommed that you search Google for your buddy and see what pops up.

That’s a tough one to answer.  Without knowing how it was installed one is left wondering if the MII kit was installed correctly or not.  Who’s kit did he use?

Second thing is the 65/66 never came with a C6 so a stock trans mount is of no use.  It would have to be custom made.   Which may be he’s best option to get it all bolted in.

Check to see if the motor is sitting squarely in the engine bay.

Good point about the front sump oil pan not fitting MII rack. Did they ever build a rear sump Cleveland?

Maybe Mochaman will relay what the actual question is…

The only thing I can say is a guy down the road did a cleveland with FMX with a MII setup in his 54 F100.

I don't know if they built a rear sump Cleveland, but there were Broncos and F series trucks that used the 351M and had dual sump pans (like a Fox body 5.0) to clear the front differential.  One of those should work.  I knew a guy in college who had a 351C in a early Fox car.

For reference ... I have the dual sump oil pan on my 351W w/the MII front end.  The pan fits over the crossbrace for the MII setup, with the R&P steering mounted on the front of the crossbrace.
