I want your input on Bash plans

Hotel info will be available later this week. but host Hotel will be Holiday Inn- Vandalia

Thursday Evening we will gather at Charter's Patio in downtown Vandalia.  This is a new addition to Downtown and is adjacent to The Copper Penny restaurant.  Indoor Dining is an option if the weather doesn't cooperate.  Across the street is another new addition to downtown, Witness Distillery, they will be open for tasting and tours.

Friday- plans are yet undecided, there are possibilities.  I can have the guys at my house for washing and wrenching on cars with a lift available.  We could do lunch as simple as ordering pizza???   I'm open for suggestions.  Lisa will probably take the women shopping????

Friday night dinner-  couple options we have a restaurant about 20 miles SW  of Vandalia called the Keys.  They have an upstairs open air dining area that overlooks Carlyle Lake, (JKB has been there with me and he suggested it)
https://www.thekeysonlakecarlyle.com/
Or we have another Restaurant downtown called Howies sixth street syndicate that has a walk out basement dining area

Saturday- BASH will be at Vandalia Lake Campgrounds.  Same location it was held in 2014-
I am undecided on the meal-  I have been told to make it as easy on myself as possible-  Well I'm open to suggestions.  Last time I had 2 friends cook hamburgers and hot dogs and can do that again.
Each year our hosts seem to one up the previous year in some manner.  Last years Brisket cookout and the Pizza oven cookout are hard events to follow!

Saturday evening meal- I'm thinking a catered meal at the Hotel with Blind Society Restaurant (inside Witness Distillery) Catering the meal.  I'll post the food options a bit later

If you have suggestions you can post them here or my Phone number is 618-292-8892.  I'm retired now so call anytime between 8 am and 8 pm

Re: I want your input on Bash plans

Terry, I would like to have our hosts able to enjoy themselves at the Bash. Would it be possible to have the bash lunch catered?  I keep revisiting that trailer full of equipment and food you put together last time. That had to be a ton of work.  If you WANT to do it that way, I am ok with whatever you want to do, but make it as easy on yourself as you want it to be.
The bash is not meant to be a competitive car show or a competitive food contest!

Money you enjoy wasting is NOT wasted money... unless your wife finds out.

Re: I want your input on Bash plans

I still think you have time to build a pizza oven in your yard.

T,
Perhaps a local group or organization could take care of the "food needs".
I'm thinking of Lions Club, VFW, Legion, Masons, etc.

As for the Bash, is the River Road cruise a potential option or is that too far away?

hummmm  I think Ed should put some wheels on his outdoor oven
and bring it to all the bashes.   And as always Steve will pay for everything.

I'm not aware of any club that does that around here
River road cruise is about a hour drive from here to where it starts and it goes as far north as you care to follow it.  I am attaching a map of the route we usually take https://goo.gl/maps/syYP8Yh3dfDShHT87
