Beware of imitation blue Holley carb gaskets

I bought a whole batch of blue “non-stick” Holley carb gaskets on ebay, thinking they were same ones Holley sells. This is to warn others thinking of saving a couple of bucks.  DO NOT BUY THEM!

They don't leak, but are one time use and come apart when removed. The Holley blue gaskets release cleanly and can be used several times.  Removal reminded me of the old days with Holleys where it took an hour to remove all the old gasket material.

Thunderhead289 on Youtube said he always coats his carb gaskets with petroleum jelly before using them.  This prevents sticking and allows multiple uses.

1968 T-code Coupe with a 302.  Nice car, no show stopper for sure, but I like it.

PAM cooking spray is another old trick for this.

Zackly!!!   I have never had any problems with the Holley gaskets. They just fall off in your hand, even after being on there for years.  These imitations were really frustrating because I have been testing different jet/power valve/squirter scenarios on my new 3310 I built up.  I think it was 4 gasket changes in rhe same day!

Carb is now set up perfect for my car, though.
