Re: 67 and up 8 inch ford case has anybody seen a place hat sells them

I just sold a 9 inch housing I had narrowed to a guy that is replacing the 8 inch.  I think the 8 inch is broke.  I can see if he will sell the case.  If he will I see if I can pass along his contact info to you.

Be careful if it suffered a gear or bearing failure.  If the rear locked up it often tweaks the housing out of true, making proper gear setup impossible and resulting in noise.

I have one here in Dallas, I would have to pull the gears out but you are welcome to it.

Re: 67 and up 8 inch ford case has anybody seen a place hat sells them

I've never seen new ones.  My guess is that with the popularity of the 9" and reasonable cost if you are just going to build it from scratch I doubt anyone is casting new 8" cases.

I Have one (Mustang) 8 inch , One (Granada) 9 inch,   and one (Maverick) 8 inch, Sitting in the garage. Should be lots of 8 inchers laying around.

If you don’t have any luck at your salvage yards, check with auto body shops and towing companies.

A friend of mine who works at a body shop has a network of sources for parts.

He knows of local sources that most people don’t even know about.

That’s how I found my replacement 8” carrier this summer.
