Re: Warning about CVF Wraptor serpentine belt system

I may have to look at the alignment on my system.  I know the bottom pullet was off and its an after market dampner so I kind of expected some variation there and for me it's .080.  I bought the little spacer that the for the dampner and the lower pulley and it did not help so I made my own .080 shim.

Re: Warning about CVF Wraptor serpentine belt system

Couple of questions on your CVF configuration:
1 - Do you have passenger or drivers side radiator hose on water pump?
2 - Does the standard location oil dip stick work?
3 - Is there any interference in seeing the timing mark indicator?

Driver side lower hose
Dipstick location works great
There is absolutely NO WAY to see the timing marks.  And I mean NO WAY.

I have 2,000 miles on it now.  Everything seems to be working well.  Did I mention you cannot see the damned timing marks?

You can get a passenger side water pump. Would that make things better or worse?

Re: Warning about CVF Wraptor serpentine belt system

I don’t think having option of timing pointer on the drivr side would make any difference in visibility.

Re: Warning about CVF Wraptor serpentine belt system

I also have a CVF set up, but I only have an alternator (no ac or ps) and I also can't see the timing pointer...the alternator is mounted low and right in the way. With my electric fan, I can sort of stick the timing light in from the front at about a 45 degree angle and can make it work, but it's a real PITA. If I had a mechanical fan, there's no way I could do it. I need to make a timing pointer for the D/S and set the timing from there.

Re: Warning about CVF Wraptor serpentine belt system

Guys that have the CVF Wraptor Serpentine System. Where did you mount the ignition coil?

Look closely just to the left of the crank pulley. You can see the bottom of my coil.

Re: Warning about CVF Wraptor serpentine belt system

I never thought of that location. There certainly is limited space up top.

Re: Warning about CVF Wraptor serpentine belt system

On the engine test stand, I have the coil kind of in the same location as MS has it.  Pretty sure it will find that location to be its permanent home once in the mustang.

Re: Warning about CVF Wraptor serpentine belt system

That was the only place I could figure out to mount it.
Now, what are you doing for timing pointer?  Itbis impossible to see any timing marks with the engine in the car.

I don't have power steering, but I still can't see mine either. I figured I could use a mirror or my bore scope to see it.

Re: Warning about CVF Wraptor serpentine belt system

I plan to mount a pointer on the far passenger side, about crank level, and apply some new timing tape to align with it.
Just need proper “round tuit” to get it done.
