I never cared for the decision to paint the entire engine assembly blue. I liked it better when valve covers, air cleaner were painted a different color than the block. I would also think it was a less time consuming (therefore a money savings issue) decision for the company.

A better question might be: why 3 different colors of blue over a short span of years?
