I remember seeing that article years ago.  I think I said something like "that guy should be shot". 

I recall the story of that Shelby.  Was there ever a follow up to the restoration?

True, but I'm sure that it has been done before by some unscrupulous persons. It is so sad to see just how badly it was neglected. Did anyone with deep pockets and limitless patience succeed in restoring that car?

Its been done and done and done and done.  I'd bet at least 10% of the Shelbys, Bosses, etc. are all rebodied cars, and its not unique to the Ford world by any means.  Those cars had a lot of power, and a lot of them got wrecked.  Keep the wreck, buy a 6 cylinder car for the shell and swap all the good parts over.  At this point, it is what it is.  I think most people if they found out that Shelby they just paid $200,000 for was rebodied and no one else knew would keep it to themselves.

There is a 64 Nova sitting in town on a trailer that has been sitting there since probably 1980. Guy won't sell it.

My wife’s half brother has a Nova, I think it’s a 71.  His father bought it for him and the car has sat for 20 plus years.  Sad part is he hated his father and has never wanted anything from him or to do with him.  But he won’t get ride of car. 

When his dad, my wife’s step dad passed away he had left me all of his tool & due tools plus all his tool boxes and such.  We cleaned out the garage so the nova had a somewhat decent place to sit.   Dawns brother couldn’t change a flat tire if he had to.  The nova will rot away.   I’m not a Chevy guy but I would love to restore it to honor her step dad.  He was a good guy anc would give you the shirt off of his back.
