I also remember reading about it. Its interesting that they were looking at AWD in '65. Seems its another one of those innovations that eventually made it into a lot of cars people drive every day today. I'm sure at the time Ford didn't think they could justify the cost, and that no one would pay the premium for the AWD system even if it made the car better in most every way.

I read a same story that had a pic of a 70 in it. It sat pretty high
