I put a set of these on my 68 about 7 years ago and they are still working great.
I got a set because back when we did the Bash in Kalispell, I was following Dave68 and he had LED sequential tail lights and I thought they really looked great.Last edited by Ron68 (4/02/2024 1:19 AM)
Online!
I installed these - amber/yellow in front and red in back. They work great. All you need is an LED compatible flasher. No need for new lights - they plug in to standard/original sockets. Much brighter than the original lights
The blinker works with LED or standard bulbs so you can convert the rears and keep the front original. I went LED front and back. There are a log of led flashers/blinkers. I used the type with a ground wire on my truck and used these on the Mustang.

I added two LED 1157 replacement bulbs, similar to what Gary used, to each tail light and kept the 1157 incandescent bulb also. I replaced the front park/turn bulb with an LED 1157 replacement. The stock bi-metal flasher works perfect but I did have to add a diode to each tail light circuit to prevent cross-feed from the stop/turn circuit. I made up a wiring diagram of this mod and Josh also used it on his FB with good results.
You're welcome to the diagram if you want it. Just shoot me a PM with your email address.

I replaced all lighting, except headlights, with LEDs from "superbrightleds.com", and am pleased with them. I replaced the under dash courtesy lights with "miniature accent LEDs" mainly to eliminate getting burned by the originals while working under the dash!
One will need to use an LED flashers for the turn signals and the 4-way emergency lights.

I did a fair amount of research before I bought my rear LED lights. They are still in a box at home. I’ll try to remember and look at where I bought them and post it.

I went with a set of taillights with the LED's integrated into the taillight lenses. I don't remember the brand, but they have been fantastic and lasted for a number of years so far.
Very bright...

I bought Vintage LEDS.

I bought these back when they were $100 less from a recommendation of a fellow 69 owner. My main concern was I didn't want to see the individual LEDs thru the lens. These put out a nice solid red without seeing a bunch of red dots. I also installed front turn signal LEDs of unknown make, as they were given to me. They too put out a lot of light.
