03 cobra brake caliper question

I have a pair of front 03 cobra calibers with a part number K247-045C and they say PBR on them.   They need rebuilt.  I found a brand new set of calipers but they only have the one number on them, K247-045C with no other markings.  Are they knock offs or the same part?

Re: 03 cobra brake caliper question

2003 calipers were usually RED from the factory and used metric threads on the hose, where others were SAE.
I DON’t pay much attention to part numbers, but that might be the difference. As long as your new ones have the raised letters where it says COBRA, they should have same size pistons.  98 and earlier calipers with the COBRA lettering in a recessed rectangle had smaller pistons

Money you enjoy wasting is NOT wasted money... unless your wife finds out.

I thought you could get the same caliper without cobra lettering?

Re: 03 cobra brake caliper question

Yes you can. Most remanufactured ones have the letters ground off.

I was just commenting on the ones I have used in the past and am familiar with.

Had me worried.  The ones I have do not have the lettering.
