Thanks for the kind words and prayers!!! I'm HOME and feel like someone dropped a toploader on my chest. This will be a very long recovery, 6 weeks minimum and things I will likely need to be mindful off for the rest of my life (I'm not even 50 yet) . This all started at the end of May and likely I tore my aorta then but was relatively asymptomatic. It was torn in three spots and could have completely ruptured at any time in the following month which would have been the end, especially given I was still exercising every day. Everyone is saying I need to buy a lottery ticket. I went from a routine ultrasound last Tuesday to confirm I was "getting better" to a ER room CT scan showing the problems were not better but actually worse and then surgery an hour later. Thanks again to the support from this family!!!

You aren't 50 yet butt (TS&T), you also ain't 30 any longer. I recall my old machinist buddy, Ted, after he caused himself some pain when he was in his early 90's. He said, "I have to remind myself that I'm not 70 any longer". It's all relative.
I'm just so happy that they caught it and that you were tough enough to make through the ordeal, I'm not done picking your brain. Go slow and follow orders. All our best to you and your family, Day.

So glad to hear that you are home and doing better. You had us all worried - you being so young and having issues, and all of us old farts just chugging along. I hope your surgeon did an upgrade to your plumbing so that you can run like a 5.0 instead of a tired old 289! Take it easy and heal up well. You've got a lot of unfinished projects that we've been watching - and we want to see them finished.
Take care, Day and get well.

Daze I'm glad to hear the surgery went well but sorry you’re back in for Afib. Every day when doing my job, I will run across someone who has had or is in Afib. Hope you’re not symptomatic during your Afib.

I hope they find the cause of it and quick.
I just went through this myself for the second time on May 18th of this year. Luckily, they figured out on the second go round my Afib was being caused by medication, specifically tamsulosin. (Flomax). When it happens you feel all dizzy and weird like you are going to pass out. Your upper chamber beats out of time and it can vary from slow to 300 beats. It's a very scary situation. I had a four day stay at the Waldorf.
New and continued prayers for Day that they find the cause and get him back on the road to recovery.

Daze, so glad to hear you are recovering. If those docs can’t figure out how to fix this, just have ‘em post it on the forum. Somebody here has input, for sure!
Now, take it easy and let that ticker heal up.

I sent Daze a pm. I worked in an EP lab as a tech performing Afib ablations and more. I left the lab 2.5 years ago and now work with pacemakers and ICD devices.
