Decided to see how the carbon fiber dash cluster fits and looks. I like it and can’t wait to install some gauges in it.
It came with only one green led for the turn signals. One red for oil pressure and a blue for the high beams. I bought another green and will have a left and right turn signal with a blue high beam in the middle.

Looks OK. Just curious - did it come with something to fill the gaps on the bottom and sides? Is there a similar panel for the glovebox door too - to tie everything together?

Sadly noting to fill the gaps but I think that won’t be that big of deal because there won’t be a bright light behind the panel highlighting the gaps. It’s suppose to replicate the R model panel. Honestly I’ve never seen what an R model one looks like but I suspect it was just a simple piece of bent metal.
I have thought about asking for some of the same carbon to fill the lower center gap and install the red LED I have in that spot.
They do make a glove box door and door cards. They are not taking orders right which for me is ok because I can’t afford to order any of right now. I will eventually order both the door cards and glove box door.

RTM - looks nice. You may want to consider a multi-pin connector to connect the wiring to the panel, makes removing the panel in the future a lot easier.

R model had a flat plate made of metal. Nothing fancy. Just a racing part.

There's a electrical component not sure the name put they make sure to give constant voltage to the gauges to ensure best Accuracy I wonder if it would be a wise idea to add to these to your gauges?

It looks great. If you wanted you could upholster wrap vinyl wrap the dash with black carbon fiber. The automotive upholstery looks really close to the carbon fiber graining the gauge cluster panel. In fact I would bet my headliner would match that perfect. The newer model black carbon fiber is a little tighter weave grain but nearly impossible to notice the difference. I'm actually planning on wrapping the dash and the dashboard. For my car. I would like to buy a 2015 Mustang Dashboard and narrow it to fit a 1965 mustang. If not though the padded wrapped carbon fiber dash is I think the missing thing that my car needed to go along with the carbon fiber interior. Im debating wrapping the door metal in carbon fiber. I have carbon fiber headliner, dashboard cover pad. Deck lid filler panel, door panels and seats. I need to get my center console redon in correct upholstery but I maybe want to do something different with the center console.
Do you have any other carbon fiber parts on your car?

I was going to ask if Im suppose to keep the stock voltage regulator in place or not and if so, does it have to be grounded?
I need to sit down and draw this out to see what size connector I will need.

RTM - not sure why you'd want to keep the voltage regulator in place, you could use that space for something else. If you decide to leave it in place, I'd leave it disconnected and it does not need to be grounded.
Regarding the dash board connector, suggest you leave room for a couple of spares for possible future use.

I wasn’t sure if the voltage regulator was still needed or not with the Autometer gauges I’ll be installing. If I don’t need it then it won’t be used. It’s still on the old cluster.
Good idea on leaving room to grow in the connector.

I don't have any photos of the dash pan cover it was cut out to the shape of the dash just a little smaller then had a nice border around it and was glued to the dash I liked it. It would work it the car was in a garage parked but I want to drive mine and don't always think it will be in the garage. So I'm pretty well decided I'm going to buy a new 1965 mustang dashboard and have it wrapped in the black carbon fiber this time that or have the dash board and dash separately or together wrapped. I would have the seams match my seats 2005-13 mustang seam seams think they are called French seams.
I used 1/2" spacers on the seats to space the track below the seat plastic trim. The trim could be dealt with several ways to make the tracks clear. I also upholstered my seat trims in the same seat upholstery this covered up old power seat controls.
With the spacer and stock 1965 seat tracks on the 2013 Seats they sit the same over all height at the seat bottom area. The seat back is roughly 3" taller that's with out the headrests compared to the 1965 mustang seats.

I love the carbon look. I may try my skills on the rear window panel and see if I can wrap it in carbon.

Sorry, I thought you were referring to the voltage regulator for the alternator. The CVU for the OEM gauges will not be needed if you're using aftermarket gauges.

Could you cut out a stock bezel and fit the panel in it. Would make a cleaner look.

Not sure and I purposely choose this panel for what it is. I could have bought the carbon dipped bezel from MTF but wanted a real piece of carbon. With black interior and no back lighting, I think I’ll be happy with it like it is.

I did a quick search for images of the 1965 GT-350R interior and found a bunch. It appears that there were at least a couple different configurations and materials used. Guess that's not too surprising. Here's a photo one of them.

Easy make Templet or use your old board for the filler panel tin foam 1/8" . spray on glue poured from a can. My upholstery guy uses siphon feed sprayer. You may try to look up keyston Bros they have different stores throughout the United States. Thats where my upholstery guy gets his supplies. I found this keystone site although not from my state though. I would try and find an upholstery supply local. Lowes or depot would at least have your staples a pneumatic or electric staple gun dunno how much they'd run at a jobber store. Hog rings for seat upholstery if you chose to buy a TMI kit for your seats. I have TMI door panels and I Had a TMI headliner before I removed it. Lowes sells 1/8" Masonite board for the base if you need it. It would also be enough to if you buy it in a 4x8 sheet that you can make a back seat to trunk filler panel if you dont have one already. Plus you'd probably have enough left over to make a trunk drop cover or other areas in the trunk.
You only need to attach the foam and upholstery on the front against the back window area and on the sides. Where the back seat sits against it leave the upholstery and foam long.

Would anyone hear be willing to try and make a custom narrowed glove box door? I like that GT-350 gauge cluster and glove box door panel. Anyone have any pictures of the shelby dash gauge pod for 65-66 mustangs I'm not talking about the single tach on the dash. Maybe it was just a later aftermarket part. What are your opinions on this interior? Looks to me like he has no heater. I wouldve liked to see four a/c vents or custom gauge cluster and glove box door and go the actual 2015 console to dash trim or similar to use the new touch screen stereo a/c and heater head unit. I saw the carbon fiber console so I thought it was appropriate to post not hijacking your original post.

I don’t have my original door cards so I would have to start from scratch, well kind of. We do have a hand stapler that uses short staples. We use it to hand targets at the gun range.

Four of the six gauges have arrived. Speedometer should ship out in the next day or so and the fuel gauge is suppose to ship around Oct 3. I think it’s going to look awesome when they are all installed. I haven’t tried to figure out what size pinned connector I would need. If I go that route.
