After measuring my 2015 mustang entertainment center whatever it is console thing. I'm not sure why after reading about the person who built that custom center for the 65 didn't try and modify the 2015 center to fit it looks like it would be significantly narrower then how his turned out.

I've always wondered why the tach is on the right and the speedometer on the left in the street cars.
Most street driving is done with the speedometer pointer active on the left side of the speedometer, which "should" be more in the center of the cluster (instrument on the right side of the cluster) so that the indicator is more visually accessible.
Or maybe it's just me.

I wanted the tach next to the oil pressure gauge so when I’m getting on it I can watch engine speed and oil pressure together. I didn’t realize that the layout I have is a common layout.
Looking at it now I think it’s also perfect because the speedometer needle will move toward the center as the speed increases. If that really matters. Lol

My new gauge set and bezel. Marshall Instruments, MP Products bezel, Amazon turn/high beam indicators and Molex 6 pin connectors.

KiethP have you had them hooked up yet? I like the look of those gauges.
My fuel gauge arrived yesterday as did some other parts. Hopefully I can wire it all up this weekend.

Yes, I have them installed and they work good so far. If you notice on the bottom of the bezel below the four gauges and between the Speedo and Tach there are push buttons. The buttons are used to configure options on the four gauges and there are two trip meters on the speedo. There is a CAL wire on the fuel gauge to configure for different resistance values for the tank sender. The speedo uses the Ford pulse sender(I didn't want GPS).

I've finally gotten some wiring done on the gauge cluster. I added the red LED for an early warning oil pressure light. Mentioned in another post, LED will come on when oil pressure drops below 20psi. I used two 12 pin connectors. I got a bag of these connectors from a good friend. Sane connector used on the steering column. Just waiting on the connectors for the KED's to arrive and I can finish it up.
I decided to wire the calibration button through the connector and I think I'll mount the push button in the glove box. I'll explorer this idea some more tomorrow.

Nice work! Make sure that you leave enough play in the wiring so you can get your hands in to connect and/or disconnect the connectors. .

Almost got everything pinned today for the dash connectors. I had to stop working so I could pack for our vacation. Maybe another day or two to finish the dash wiring and running wires for the electronic speedometer and run some wires for the backup lights. Then I'll see if I can turn it over with the key and then hopefully start it by the key. Getting closer.

My 1999 truck, 2003 miata, 2004 Jeep Liberty, and 2012 Hyundai all have the speedo on the right and the tach on the left. Perhaps it is for the reason John reasons above. Anyway, when I ordered my Dakota Digital VHX gauge set for my '68, it came with the speedo on the left and the tach on the right. I reversed these to match all my other vehicles when I installed it. So John, I agree with you. I saw no reason to have my mustang be different from my other vehicles.
