Are APC radiators good

Found this one at ACP for a 67 mustang. It has the stock tank where my champion dosent. It will be 112 square inchs more in size, plus i think the third row could help. Or are ther better ones for $350.MAXCORE 3-ROW PLUS ALUMINUM RADIATOR 24" 289/302/351

Slammed Big Blue, ran over the varmints that messed with the Stang. Now all is good in the NW

I bought the 24" ACP for my 66.  I don't re all all of the details from researching it but I do know I felt confident in buying it.

Re: Are APC radiators good

I have two of the two row 24” aluminum ones. Good quality.

Re: Are APC radiators good

I wonder how much cooling variation there is between left and right bottom outlets.
Ford must have been onto something when they changed from 68 right side to the 69 left.

My thinking is it cools better.  That's why I bought my CVF kit with a drivers side outlet on the water pump.

Re: Are APC radiators good

I ‘heard’ the reason Ford changed to the driver’s side lower outlet was that some hot coolant coming in the top passenger side was flowing down that side and back out to the engine without proper mixing/cooling within the radiator.  I do not know if that explanation is accurate, or not.

Re: Are APC radiators good

Original radiators that had both hoses on the same side had a panel in the top tank to direct coolant to the opposite side.

Re: Are APC radiators good

Check ebay for two row. The one cooling my 427 is a two row, 2-1/2” thick Griffin. I doubt the Griffin cools any better than the ebay ones. Usually $199 to $229

Re: Are APC radiators good

I'm on my 3rd ACP aluminum rad in my 66. The 1st 2 didn't make it through 1 short driving season here in Canada. Both leaked where the tubes were sweated at the upper tank right under the hose connection. ACP customer service has been absolutely top shelf. A real pleasure to deal with and shipping was very fast. So far this latest one has been holding out just fine.

Re: Are APC radiators good

While thier cutomer service may have been a pleasure; my compliant would be having to have to deal with them not once, but twice.  Providing a quality product without having to replace the item is my expectation from any company.
Just saying.
