Some progress on the 65

I got the engine and trans out.  The buyer is picking them up Saturday.
Now I need a couple of tires so I can move the car.

Re: Some progress on the 65

A local fellow I helped with some stuff is loaning me a couple of wheels/tires, so hopefully those will get the car rolling.  And he is delivering!

Re: Some progress on the 65

Wow! I'm just curious, when you pulled the engine- did you notice if it had the chassis ground strap from the head to the firewall? I have read that without it the linkages and u-joints become a path for the ground, and that could have contributed to the problem by arcing.

The ground strap was intact between the passenger side head and the firewall.

I only drove this car about a mile inside my neighborhood after purchasing it from Mochaman. My understanding is the car has not been driven for many years. It was apparently parked after a brake failure. I fixed the brakes and installed a new gas tank and drove it just enough to see if the engine worked right and the tranny shifted.  Engine and trans are to be sold this weekend.

Currently undergoing disassembly for restoration.
