68 Cougar with borgeson conversion and the saginaw pump. Pump is only 4 months old but it is squealing on low rpm turns and is getting worse. Really bad right after start up.
Any suggestions to look at before I order a new one?

Proper tension on the belt? Is the mount flexing? The Borgeson mounting on these pumps is Mickey Mouse at best IMO. I would also advise checking the pump shaft for endplay. There should be some, but a lot indicates the pump is worn out inside.

Try vacuum bleeding the air out of system.
There are videos on how to do it.
Even a slight seep at a fitting can introduce air and cause cavitation.

Is it a Saginaw Gen 1 or is it a Gen II pump?
