I added a support bracket to the MII steering setup. Happy to say everything is super tight and responsive. Pictures are before I panted everything. I used the bolt holes in the frame that the clutch pivot bracket would bolt to. Worked out pretty well. The shaft and frame holes were almost on the same center line.

Thanks. I did have to make it twice. First one wasn't long enough so I made it longer which made it a lot easier to tighten the bolts up.

Why is that there? Its only function can be to make your steering bind. Heim joints are not rotational bearings.
I cannot see any reason to have a midshaft support on an Mii setup. A proper setup would have a joint at the end of the column, an intermediate straight shaft, and a joint at the rack.
Can you explain your reasoning in installing that?

I have movement in the end of the column or had movement. Not much movement but enough that I didn't like it. Is it overkill, maybe but it makes me feel better about the setup.

I get what Steve is alluding to. Do you have a lower steering column bearing on the steering shaft?

Are you asking if there's a bearing at the end of the column then yes. But the support that holds the column has some give to it. With having three knuckles in the steering connections I wanted to make sure no stress would be put on the column plus eliminate the slight give in the column mount. There are no other bearings other than the support I added.

That support does nothing to support your unsupported steering column shaft. I have seen lots done like yours. I have corrected a few to a properly supported column and shaft.
I see what you are trying to do but that is not the best and simplest solution

The column shat is supported by the end of the column. The shaft I'm connected to will not tilt on the point I'm connected too therefore it will not bind. I said it had a little movement in the column, not that it wasn't supported. Ideally the support I added would function far better on the shaft between the two knuckles that are at the steering rack and the bend, but I could not fit the support in there, to tight with the headers. This was as close as I could get to supporting it all near the first knuckle and still be able to tighten it all down with the engine in it. There is nothing to correct to here and I fail to see how adding this support hurts anything. They support the steering linkage like this all the time when making more complex turns. I just didn't want any load from the two knuckles putting a load on the end of the steering column.
