    When cleaning up under hood wiring what covering do you.....

    What covering do you route wires in like the ignition box wires and the coil wires. I know some tape them some use those plastic corrugated and some just let them run all over the place with nothing.

    Its really me....I fixed my caps lock .

    I think corrugated plastic split loom is completely out of place on cars of this vintage.  It wasn't used by OEMs until the '80s.

    I prefer black friction tape.  It looks period correct.

    I bought the proper wire tape, not sticky to rewrap the wiring work I had to do on my build.  I also used the plastic covering for a cleaner look and it adds a little more protection.

    I use black split braided sleeving because I like the look.  As the ends tend to unravel, I use either heat shrink tubing or a black “OEM harness tape” made for vehicles.

    They make a split plastic sleeve that looks like early woven material.

    Some people use heater hose that they've split lengthwise.

    Painless has a really neat sleeving material that they advertise on their website. It’s super expensive to buy from them though. So you can see what it looks like and then go search McMaster Carr. They carry the same product at a fraction of the cost.

    I think I may go with the Red Wolf Automotive vinyl tape not the cloth kind though. Steve said the 3M kind is good too.

    I've used the 3M stuff over the years and its good quality.
