I haven't seen a Bitchin Photos thread since I've been around. Admittedly, it hasn't been long so flame me for starting another one.
I love this photo. A bit painful, but it's an awesome pic. 3am in Goshen, about halfway to the Bako bash in an untested car. Intermittent miss (brown wire I think) carb problems and charging system/alternator problems. Had MS been along he would have let me have both barrels. Fortunately RPM and Lt. Dan were kind enough to try and rescue me. Car fought us ever which way. Bob leaning over my winder, Lt. Dan on the shutter. Love this pic. high quality png free download
I showed you mine. Show me yours.

Here's mine from a long time ago. Just after the restoration. Around 1990. No gray hairs yet.

When I get mine out of the garage I'll gladly post some pictures of it in the wild.

The morning we left Tx heading for Bakersfield, for Bash 21.
Note the Bako Squat going on from two weeks worth of luggage in the trunk and back seat. At this point, my front tires were in great condition. After 3,600 miles of touring, the air was almost showing through the inside edges. That’s what 1.25 degrees of negative camber will do for you. Now have two new front tires and zero camber.
Great trip! Thanks to RPM and Paul for having us.

Some cool pics so far. This pic is at the same gas station at the same time as R Code's pic, and also taken by Lt Dan. Dude sure takes some great photos.

Great photo MS. Was thinking your FB looked lower than usual, before I read the post. I kinda like the Bako Squat.
On the negative camber deal, ouch. BMW put a lot of it into the rear of E60s, presumably to keep them from oversteering; yes, it leads to a lot of camber wear. Definitely not as much as on the front of your FB, but quite a bit. My FB has -0.4* on the PS and 0.0* on the DS. Was thinking I would install the SorT adj camber kit but now I'm a wondering.

That is the camber kit I used. Works great.

As I remember Sal, that was a relatively inexpensive paint job you put on your car several years ago? I was just wondering how it is still holding up after the trips you have made across the country? Looks real good!

Old age can reek havoc on memory.....
Been to TEXAS a couple times as well as Oklahoma ...butt never drove any cross-country jaunts.
Paint's still holding up good on the old Hot Rod. BC/CC really seals it up compared to old enamel
mix that Maaco used the first couple paint jobs.
The old 'dope-smok'in' paint/body man was right when he said...."cars/trucks this age are not to be parked "out-side" and expect them to hold up!"
I keep it in the shop or garage when not in use.

SAl, I remembered you had a Maaco paint job and prep put on your car originally. Gosh that was probably 20+ years ago! Looks like it was a good plan after all. I think you also epoxyed the cowl vents also to prevent mice and water from getting in.

That's right Ron. Must have been 15 years ago or something, but I still think it's a cool pic.

It's funny that we are conditioned to just hit a button to like or love or whatever on a comment or pic. I do dig the car photos, and I do like the idea of Sal driving his coupe to TX again.

We'll be lucky if Sal makes it to the Bash this year. 😘
BTW, anyone heard any further info on the Bash, like host hotel?
REMEMBER!!! When posting a question about your Mustang or other Ford on this forum, BE SURE to tell us what it is, what year, engine, etc so we have enough information to go on. |
