I chat often with one of the bio med guys here at work about my projects and we always talk about how my son is doing in the marines. Turns out a neighbor gave him a transmission jack, I don't think he works on cars but he took it. Yesterday he asked if I wanted it. Of course I said yes.
My floor jack has a transmission jack base that I can swap with the round pad but it sits really high. This jack has a much lower profile. The blue jack is my floor jack with the adapter on it.

Free is always good, especially when it's useful. My wife has a tendency to get free stuff that I have to throw away later.

Brahahaha 🤣
Yes, free is good indeed. Specially a transmission jack. A few years back after swapping transmissions ever full moon, I decided to get a transmission jack. If you've never used one, they are better than sliced bread. Next time I went to use it, I could not find it anywhere. Axed my son if he knew where it was, nope. Did you take it somewhere or loan it to someone, nope. Fine, guess I'll go buy another one.
A couple of months later a friend of my son's who he met at welding school pulls up to the house. She walks up to me in the garage carrying a transmission jack. Whatcha got there? Oh Kurtis loaned me his jack a while back. Cool.

Sounds about right. When looking for tools I usually just check wherever one of the three people I let use my shop were working last. I still seem to have a lot of sockets go missing. My theory is they end up the same place as the socks that disappear form the laundry.

Loaning tools can get tricky, sometimes they don’t come back unless you go get them.

The big thing there is "SHE" LOL When I was young, I use to put the transmission under the car and lift it on my chest and put it in. Never did an auto that way.

Still how I do manual transmissions. Autos are too awkward to do that with I tried it once with a TH350. You would also have to get the car much higher up in the air, because of the bellhousing being part of the case on an auto.

I would have guessed this guy wouldn't have any kind of car related tools.
RPM I can relate to that.
