    65 convertible is officially off the rotisserie and now is on the lift

    I stuck the engine in the car just to get it off the stand. The engine has been ready to fire for 2-3/4 years.
    More pics on my FB group 64.5-73 Mustang Tech Help.
    The entire bottom of the car was cleaned and painted with hot rod black catalyzed polyurethane, as was the engine compartment.
    I had fun cutting out the welded/bolted stabilization frame I built.  I made careful measurements of everything before and after the stabilizer was installed and before/after the ride on the rotisserie.  All measurements came out the same when it sat back on the wheels. 
    The frame is available if anyone is going to be doing a convertible.

    That will be what I consider a "lifetime" car. I have sold a several of my lifetime cars and have only regrets for doing so. I cleaned, sanded, etc. the underside of my 66 convertible using two forklifts. Not the best idea, but it is what I had at the time. Looking forward to this build.

    Picture is worth a 1000 words.....
    EZ to understand now how FoMoCo stiffened the convertible "frame" compared to a non-rag-top.

    You're gonna end up like me with my 68 coupe and my 65 convertible - you'll find that you will be driving the convertible more than your 66!

    68 coupe - 351W, 4R70W, 9" 3.25 -- 65 convertible - 289 4v, C4, 8" 3.00

    Perhaps not so in the heat of Texas.
    I found that on stifling hot summer days the top has to be up or your brain gets fried.
    But on any other day there’s nothing better than having the top down and wind in your hair, if you have any.
