Critics abound, and I are one.
300 pages to cover restoration of 9 model years? That's about the same page count as the Haynes manual that covers the same model year spread (and which is not all that useful).

Ill have to add that to my must read book list...lol

The Chilton manuals for first generation is worse.
I learned a lot from reading and understanding various components just because of the many pictures.
Worst part…neither have been updated with known mistakes or to even clarify stuff.
I have waited over 30 years and still no changes.
I guess these books fall in same category as long tube headers.
Maybe some day I can afford a year specific service manual…those suckers usta be expensive for a poor kid.
I just used mine the other day to help Sal troubleshoot his ‘66.😁

I have that Haynes manual and several others. Maybe my dissatisfaction with the Facebook thing is semantics. To me "restoration" means fully and accurately returning something to its original condition. I have a whole bunch of books that are intended to document repair and the as-built configuration just for my model year car and there are still gaps in coverage that would preclude a true restoration of my 1966 model-year vehicle. So it's hard for me to believe that a single 300 page document that claims to be a "Mustang Bible" is going to be anything approaching a comprehensive restoration book for each of the 8 model year vehicles it claims to address.
The books I have, which together have a page count far in excess of 300, are useful for repair. But there isn't any one of them that is a do-all, end-all resource that covers each thing I've had to do to just my 1966 car over the years.

As dad used to say, “Consider the source”

I have two books for Chevrolets from the musclecar era that only cover part and casting numbers. Each book is at least 300 pages. There's simply no way that a 300 page book could cover even one year comprehensively. It would be hard to do a 300 page book on paint and have it be comprehensive.

As far as books , these are my go-to's.
Butt for quick info, I go to the Crazy 8s text chain, which has decades of real world Mustang knowledge.

My buddy gave me the red books for 65/66 and they actually were very handy to have. As simple as these cars are it was still nice to be able to look up how something went back together.

I have several “Motors” manuals the earliest being from 1960. As these manuals cover several years, I’ve been able help friends with their mid-fifties’ cars. I also have the Ford 1966 service manual for the Mustang that my father purchased when my sister bought her first Mustang. These manuals contain a lot of good information.
Also, I‘ve found using Google search has provided some good info. Although, a few times it was not accurate.
