I'm east of Dallas. My subdivision doesn't allow window A/C units. My shop is a 2 car garage-sized extension to my garage and has a common wall separating it from the garage. So I mounted a window unit in that common wall with the condensor sticking out into the garage. When I need the shop A/C, I open up the garage door and turn on the A/C in my shop and it exhausts out into the garage. I keep a 5-gallon bucket under it to collect the condensation. Works like a charm.

I'll help you, I've been working in the heat for over 30 years and it has killed me YET!! Came close a few times!
Now if you will just send one of your company's jets to pick me up!!

When I was in Houston I had a window AC unit in my garage. The garage was not insulated so it did not get much cooler but with the doors and windows closed the AC unit reduced the humidity enough inside that it was bearable to work in the heat. A hi-vo floor fan helped too.

The temps in my garage dropped dramatically when I added the power roof vent and the drop ceiling to go along with the ac units that were useless at the time. Totally different stable! Someday, I hope that dern place starts producing some results.....LOL

Thanks terry.......pack an overnight bag cause I'm filing a flight plan right now...
Corky, appreciate the offer.....
John, if I owned this place, I'd insulate the garage and install some kind of AC gizmo...not sure my land lord would appreciate me cutting a hole in the wall of the garage right now....

I'm only a mile from the local airport, you better bring one of the newer 737s cause your gonna need some good brakes to get stopped on our 4001' runway

Sounds like you might need a C-17 rather than a 737-400.

As long as you dump the bucket every hour.

K' Bobs, just curious, do you live in an incorporated village?
When I bought my rental property, I was careful not to buy in the village because of all the rules.
Offline
oh, i'm sure it's incorporated or corrupted or both.......really doesn't matter cause I'm leasing the place anyway....plus my landlord is three blocks away!!
