Poop Boys(and others) sell a brake flush. Just use that.

Agree with MS, run DOT3 OR DOT4, don't use DOT5. Check this link for a primer and then Google for more info:

Why is that, MS? I have had Dot 5 in my '65 convertible, with front discs and rear drums, since 1982. Nary a problem and no fluid that will suck moisture out of the air and rust calipers and wheel cylinders.
Also I do not get the 'spongyness' that I have heard is supposed to be one of the symptoms of using it.

I also disagree that you will regret using DOT 5.
DOT 5 has been in my 68 with four wheel disk brakes for about four years and can vouch there is no sponge feeling or reduction in stopping force.
The only reason not using DOT 5 is if you are racing where the lower numbers are required.

Darn! I thought driving my Fastback was racing, the Cobra rotors keep turning blue! Ain't no DOT 5 in there! It is great in hydraulic clutches though!
