Brake bleeding

I've replaced my master cylinder and booster, bled with a vacuum bleeder. Pedal still soft. So I decided to gravity bleed.  How long should that take? Starting with furthest rear, taking a long time to get fluid out!.  I did bench bleed the master. New lines from master to distribution block. 68 with front disc rear drum.

thanks

Re: Brake bleeding

Open all the bleeders at the same time, make sure you keep refilling the master, don't let the level get below 1/2 ...may take 2-3 hours + ...jj

Re: Brake bleeding

Great flow from fronts.  I get some fluid from rears, but not a flow like front. Do I have a problem?or is that the way it  comes out of rear when gravity bleeding?

Re: Brake bleeding

Mark,  the new lines you mention, there is not a bend in them such that the line goes back "up-hill" is there?  If yes, you could be getting air trapped there.
Good Luck

Re: Brake bleeding

Is the brake light ON on the dash?  If so, the differential pressure valve may be tripped and needs to be recentered.

Re: Brake bleeding

Brake light is not on. I think the stupid adjustable proportional valve to the rear is a problem.

Re: Brake bleeding

Which brand prop valve do you have?  I quit carrying one of them because of issues like yours.

Re: Brake bleeding

It's many years old. I had gotten it from SSBC in a conversion kit.

Re: Brake bleeding

Now that you have flow ,close all the bleeders and pump bleed each one seperately...do rears first...jj
